Interactive Whiteboards: Anne McLean, 19 June 2006
Are IWBs being used as “giant computer screens”? The Guardian’s “Screen Check” raises questions about the use of interactive whiteboard in the classroom.
Are IWBs being used to enhance interactive, participative and collaborative methodology and are pupils more motivated, focused and involved?
Or, as the publication queries, is “the current use of whiteboards making lessons more visual and entertaining, yet failing to develop children’s understanding?”
Not according to Robert Jones, North Berwick High School in his blog about Interactive Whiteboards in Maths.
CurricuLinks: Anne McLean, 24 May 2006
“CurricuLinks” is a website that I set up for pupils, parents and teachers. It has links to websites which I think enhance learning and teaching. The URL is:
http://www.ea.e-renfrew.sch.uk/curriculinks/
Today, inspired by Will Richardson, who commented that in this age of participation, “everyone has a printing press”, I learned how to set up this blog. Thanks to Andrew Brown who helped, with great patience!
